"Call for the Best CTO Case of the month competition"
Dear Friends,
Sharing expertise and learning new solutions to successfully open occlusions or solve complications is the main goal of the EuroCTO Club. Sessions showing selected complex live or recorded cases are often the highlight of interventional meetings but now there are often interesting cases shared by operators via the most popular socials.
It is time for the EuroCTO Club to wake up and start offering the possibility to use its website to display new materials, new techniques, way-out of complications during CTO recanalization.
These are the rules:
Participants: not limited to EuroCTO Club members, every physician interested in CTO can participate. Please spread this call among your colleagues, including Fellows-in-training (supervise when needed).
Material to submit: recording of a commented case of no more than 5 minutes with special emphasis on a new device, a new technique, an interesting way to detect or solve a complication (see template). The following video files are allowed:
Quality:
- HD (720p) - quality 1280x720
- Full HD ( 1080p) - quality 1920x1080
File size max: 3.500 MB
Type: *.mp4 *mov
The video and commenting voice must be on the same file (Powerpoint provides an easy option)

Rules of the game: After this call, sent to all the EuroCTO members consenting to receive Newsletters, you have one month to prepare and submit the case(s). The best three cases will be selected by three judges appointed by the EuroCTO Board (Chair, Pierfrancesco Agostoni, Antwerps, Belgium; Members: Paul Knaapen, Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Juan Luis Gutierrez-Chico, Marbella, Spain.
A second Newsletter will inform all the EuroCTO Club members that the three cases are live in the WebSite ready to be graded by members to select the winner.
A third Newsletter will be sent as a reminder the week before the deadline (one month from the uploading in the website).
Based on the grading, the winner will be selected but all cases will remain in the EuroCTO website available for review. A final Newsletter will be sent to inform the members on the name of the Winner.
Prize: The winner will receive full sponsorship to participate to the upcoming EuroCTO congress (prize can be transferred to a coauthor if unavailable). After appropriate reformatting and pending approval from the Editorial Board, the case report will also be published as Image in Cardiology in Cardiol J (2021 IF 2.74,expected 2022 IF >3.1)
Role of the Sponsor: The Sponsor covers the IT cost required to manage the selection process and insert the selected cases on the website and to offer a discounted registration and cover hotel and travel expenses to the winner in order to attend the EuroCTO conference. The Sponsor will have no role in selecting the cases to be awarded.

You will be informed whether your case has been selected as the three awarded and the winner will receive his/her invitation to come and present the case during the congress.
